timing...

...is a bitch! pardon my language, but really it just is sometimes. no specific details on this one, sorry, but just know there's this little tiny itty bitty part of me that is kind of a hopeless romantic...ok, it's a little bigger than that, i just hate expressing it so it stays shoved well beneath the surface. but seriously, there have been 3 instances in the last week that have brought some of those feelings waaaaay to close to the top for my comfort. i don't have the time, nor the energy to deal with these feelings right now. lame sauce (minus meatballs)...at least wait til i'm done with school, please!

i just need to stick to my guns and not forget my philosophies of life:
*boys have cooties, always have and always will
*babies are cute but turn into toddlers
*toddlers turn into 6 yr olds
*6 yr olds turn into pre-teens
*pre-teens turn into teenagers
*etc...
*boys never really actually "grow up"
*window shopping and test driving are as far as i go

i know my plan isn't as well thought out and divine as the one i'm supposed to be following. looks like i need to do some soul searching and figure this out the right way instead of fighting it

*sigh*

it's here again...SNOW!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEHHAAAAAWWWWW!!!! i love this time of year. everything looks so white and pure with a fresh blanket of snow (then the cars drive by and it gets all slushy and icky) but my most favorite thing about it is hitting the mountain and getting some boarding in. i usually go by my self since i don't have many friends that are snow fans and the ones that are don't have ideal schedules like mine ends up being (which is during the week when everyone else is at school/work). snowbasin is usually a ghost town when i'm up there and the only thing i can hear is the swoosh of my board gliding over the snow (and the occasional "umph" if i catch an edge or tombstone it in the deep powder) the scenery is amazing on clear days, looking out over the valley. i can look out over the amazing land God has created for us. it's hard to describe how i feel when i'm up there or even why i feel it, but it's amazingly calming.
unfortunately, this year i didn't splurge and get a season pass anywhere so i'm stuck waiting for january to roll around because that's when my snowboarding class starts. yes, i said snowboarding class. slacker you might say? and i just might agree with that, but i'm going to say it's ok because i'm in nursing school! they tell us one of the most important things we can do is take care of ourselves. so i'm doing just that by spending a couple hours a week on the mountain, in the fresh, clean air, communing with nature. it's my stress relief. so obviously i haven't been up snowboarding this year but i took a few pics last year to send to my friend in texas so they'll have to do for the next month and a bit.

at snowbasin when i got into some double black diamond territory with the bings. best day on the mountain ever!

funny funny...

so for halloween i decided to go as an alter ego, if you will, of my new idol. i have recently discovered how absolutely hilarious saturday night live really is! i honestly don't know how i've made it 22.5 years without knowing this. life, of course, will never be the same because i actually have a reason (other than lack of a social life) to stay home on saturday nights now! i decided to channel my inner comedian (and black girl fro) and go as gilly, a troublesome 2nd grader who enjoys tormenting her classmates and teacher. my friend ami surprised me and dressed up as junice, another alter ego of kristen wiig. and megan was a freakin awesome rocker chick. the pics are, well, unique. as are the characters. check 'em out, as well as the links to the videos from snl at the bottom. i've realized that this is my stress relief, so sit back and have a laugh or 2. :D

well, hopefully i'll keep up on this more...i have tons of pics, i just never get around to blogging them...most are on facebook tho...so for those who actually know me, find them there.

peace out!
